Our conjoined twin girls Ava and Teagan were born March 15th 2011. They shared a heart and liver. They sadly passed away March 17th, 2011. We miss them dearly every single day.

Quick update

I went to see the cardiologist yesterday and I had an appointment today with my drs I see every week.  I had an ultrasound at both appointments.  Everything is looking "ok" as of right now.  The fluid on their lungs has decreased and there is just a little bit on each.  Good news!  The one artery that pumps to the lungs is still significantly smaller than the others and its growing slower than the others.  Both babies now weigh 2 pounds.  I don't really know when we will be delivering the babies.  One doctor said 39 weeks if we made it that far.  The other 2 say 36-37 weeks.  Honestly though nobody really knows.  Its something we take day by day.  It all just depends on what my body does and what the ultrasounds show each week.  There is a Pediatric Cardiology conference going on here this week and a doctor from some other state was in the office with the Cardiologist that I see today.  She has personally dealt with several sets of conjoined twins so she had been spending time going over all the images and videos of Ava and Teagans heart to give him her opinion.  My drs are also showing another dr that is great with fetal ultrasounds to see what he has to say.  Its always good to have many opinions.  The doctor today said the same thing my drs say....after awhile it gives you a headache because its so complicated!  Oh one more crazy thing.  So I had said how normally Baby A is always on my right and Baby B on my left.  Then last week they had flipped and Baby A was on the left and Baby B on the right.  Well yesterday at the ultrasound these crazy girls were back to their original places.  My dr just cant believe it!  She said its really astonishing that they were able to do that not once but twice!  It was funny because on Saturday night I told Jason...I think they are flipping back!  Sure enough they did!  I also did the fun glucose test today.  Hopefully I pass!  I failed the 1 hour with Brooklyn and Brayden so we will see what this time brings!
